Originally from Kansas City, I started my career in Des Moines, Iowa, after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Drake University, where I studied magazine journalism and psychology. I briefly lived in Portland, Oregon, before settling in New York in 2008. After seven years, I returned to the Midwest and call KC home again.
Today, I'm a multimedia writer and editor, social media strategist, and digital consultant working for clients, including ModernFarmer.com. I've tackled site launches and relaunches (FreshHomeIdeas.com and RachaelRaymag.com), and led the digital editorial strategy, social media, syndication, and audience development for AllYou.com and CountryLiving.com.
My writing has appeared in Country Living, Country Home, Fresh Home, ReadyMade, Every Day with Rachael Ray, Portland Spaces, DIY, Travel + Leisure, Etsy, among others. I've made television appearances on The Nate Berkus Show, Yahoo! Finance, Pix11, Philadelphia's The 10! Show, and Good Day Columbus, and I also produce and host pre-recorded how-to videos. (Allow me to show you how to stencil a wall!) You can see all my clips over here.
I moonlight as a design consultant for friends and family, so fair warning: If you invite me over, I may rearrange your furniture.
