CountryLiving.com Social Media Strategy

When I started at CountryLiving.com in November 2011, not one brand at Hearst had a presence on Pinterest.com. I immediately set Country Living up with an account, then presented my strategy and reasoning—hello, traffic!—to all the editors-in-chief at the company. Soon, every brand was pinning, but Country Living’s account remained one of the strongest. Nearly 12 percent of traffic came from Pinterest, and my social media strategy was a finalist in min’s Digital Awards for Best Use of Social Media in 2013.
